United Kingdom–A transsexual truck driver in the UK has been awarded 20,000 British pounds, claiming that her employer discriminated against her based on her transsexual status.

She won 9,000 pounds for the discrimination she suffered and 11,000 pounds for hurt feelings.  She claimed that her colleagues ridiculed her, behaved suggestively, and at one point even through her belongings into a toilet.  When she complained, she was not given proper consideration.

She was employed by Excel, an arm of the delivery company DHL. She sued Excel as well Blue Arrow, the recruiting company through which she obtained the job with Excel.
